What are the conditions to use the Ethibel PIONEER and Ethibel EXCELLENCE labels?
The Ethibel PIONEER and Ethibel EXCELLENCE labels can only be used for investment funds or other financial products which exclusively select shares from the Investment Register to compose their products.
The Ethibel PIONEER label requires companies which, after a specific investigation, have been assigned an A or B rating. For the Ethibel EXCELLENCE label companies with a C rating also qualify.
Besides these shares, the labelled funds can also contain sustainable bonds issued by governments, international institutions or companies.
In order to use the label the financial institution should conclude a contract which sets out the rulebook for the European collective label in question, together with other specific conditions (such as the duration of any transitional measures). Forum ETHIBEL checks the positions and all portfolio transactions. These checks usually take place every quarter. For actively managed portfolios the frequency may rise to one check per month. Passively managed portfolios are checked every six months.
